The rules for participating in the tastings of Expo Chianti Classico 2020
On 2020 the Chianti Classico Wine Expo will take place in a reduced version, but still full of great wines, fun and mostly it will be a very safe event.
Piazza Matteotti will be, as usual, the center of the Expo and it will be a cheerful but controlled square.
Each accesses to the square will have Check Points where health workers and volunteers will monitor the entrances and control the temperature of anyone who enters in the tasting area.
The Check Points will be open on Saturday from 3,00pm to 9,00pm and Sunday from 10,00am to 8,00pm.
The Chianti Classico wine tastings will be organized as follows:
Tastings at the Consorzio Chianti Classico Wine Pavilion - Piazza Matteotti:
Registration will be mandatory for tasters and for any accompanying person who access the tasting area also if they not intend to taste – the registration includes name, surname and a telephone number. Since the capacity of the tasting area will be limited, we recommend the access only to those who intend to have wine tasting, avoiding the entry of accompanying people who can wait outside the delimited area.
Once inside the tasting area, it will be possible to purchase the glass and the tasting ticket at the cash point. The ticket includes a total of 6 tastings. As usual, the tasting of a Chianti Classico wine will worth 1 punching, Riserva and Gran Selezione will worth 2 punchings. It will be possible to buy back tickets at the cash desk for further tastings. For health reasons due to the current sanitary situation, there will be no producer's stands in the square. The list of wines for tasting at the Consorzio Chianti Classico Wine Pavilion will be available online on the website www.expochianticlassico.com a few days before the event.
In order to allow a regular flow of tasters, the access to the Pavilion will be regulated by several entrance and exit lines and the tastings will be served by a Sommelier. After being served, It is important to not stop in front of the Pavilion, we recommend to leave the tasting area as soon as possible and enjoy the wide spaces of the Square to avoid gatherings.
In order to give a greater possibility to move around, there will be two additional access points to the tasting area, at the top and at the end of the square.
We also remind you that the use of face masks is mandatory inside the tasting area.
